Angry Oprah Winfrey's Lab chokes to death

Oprah Winfrey is devastated after her pet dog Gracie died by choking on a plastic ball. In the August edition of her O Magazine, she reveals how her two-year-old Labrador choked whilst out with a dog walker.
I bet her dog gets a better funeral than any human I know!

She'll probably devote an entire show to this and use her power to ban plastic balls forever.

Ok animal lovers-who wouldn't be upset about their pet dying?
I can remember several heated debates about animals and losing them.
So what if she feels that someone was negligent with her dog-it's her right, isn't it?

I would certainly be upset. As a dog lover and as someone who has had to leave my dog in the hands of others on occassion, I would be devastated.

I would be upset also. I think if you know something is too small for your dog, you should take it away. They are just like children, will put anything in their mouth and if its small enough to swallow, they will, especially a lab, they will eat ANYTHING!! She actually had them all on her show awhile back, I think she had three labs, and was having the two puppies trained. It was a whole show about how to train your dog properly. Makes you wonder what kind of dog walker she hired.

Geez, I'm no fan of The Oprah, but this is pretty horrible.

I feel sorry for Oprah. Losing a pet you love is tragic, especially in the way her dog died. Her dog wasn't ill and died by chocking on a toy. She probably feels a little guilty. I would be thinking if only I didn't give my dog the plastic ball.

this is really sad actually- RIP Gracie I can see how she would be upset at the dog walker- labs do put everything in their mouths and you need to be careful because pups can choke easily if you don't watch them when they're playing with certain toys/balls

I love dogs so much and have a few of my own, I can't imagine anything happening to them they almost become like children

Aww, poor Gracie, rest her soul.

I don't particularly care much for Oprah but to lose a dog this way is just so horrible. I can imagine the dog walker would've felt so helpless, shocked and guilty... I've been in a similar situation where my dog appeared to have swallowed plastic wrap and was having trouble breathing, it was extremely distressing but thankfully he coughed it up and was fine.

The poor dog. Thats just sad. Why would Oprah hire a dog walker, she's got legs that work, right?
