Stars and Their Egos
What stars do you think have the biggest egos and which ones do you think are the most humble?

I think they all are neurotic and have huge egos.
You just have ones who are proud of it and let it all hang out and those who
pretend that they don't have a big ego and act all meek and mousy.

Everyone--not only celebrities--has an ego. I was in the illustrious creative writing program at that big old famous New York University and my GOD the egos.....Holy mother of God. And they were poets. And then I worked in publishing and dealt with Stephen King and Howard Stern who didn't have egos. Yes, that Howard Stern. It shocked everyone. The editorial director was a left-wing lesbian feminist (I mean this in the best way) and she loooooved Howard Stern. Howard was the most cooperative and funniest and sweetest and nicest author we worked with, I swear to God.
Stephen King was gracious, funny, warm, and genuine. He spent time talking to us, the assistants, and we loved when he came into the office.
The ones who are the most humble are the ones you might not suspect. They also--in general, Howard Stern excluded because I believe that was an aberration--are not the ones in your face all the time. A general rule of thumb: If they go on Dateline, they ain't humble.

I'm so glad Stephen King is lovely, he comes across so down to earth
I think Brit, Madonna, Anna Kournikova (Yuk), Tom Cruise..so many of them seem nasty though.
Sometimes it's the Z listers who have the biggest egos though

Donald Trump.
They all have egos, athletes, movies stars, musicians...all of them. They all think their shit don't stink.

^Yes, and even non-celebrities. I've met a few Starbucks managers and concierges who had enormous egos. At the same time, celebrities are constantly being told how amazing and wonderful and special and god/goddess-like they are....Of course their egos are going to be out of control.

Honestly, he is the nicest, nicest man to work with. He is funny and not at all weird. He has a big beautiful brain and a crazy imagination, but he's really a good man. I mean, he's friends with Dave Barry! How cool is that.

Well, my geriatric hunk apparently isn't as arrogant as many had him tagged as. This is what I'd found about that and posted in the "What celebs did you meet" thread:

Thank you for those! I googled for people who'd had encountered Warren Beatty through the years and here's a few I found:
Quote:
Quote:
(despite looking older than his age...)".....Beatty has very young, sparkling, alert blue eyes (not to mention quite long eyelashes). ...
.....he helped a friend of mine about a decade ago when she had car trouble. He didn't change her tire or anything, but he did call to get her car to a garage. Very unassuming man.
(on a messageboard regarding Beatty's supposed vanity, re. "you're so vain", and his supposed smugness) ......Beatty is painfully shy, yes SHY. I'm a nobody and was lucky enough to meet him and talk to him at a charitable event and even though the man already was a huge star, he'd rather sit way in the back of the room and hang around with people he felt secure with. When the mingling began and "strangers' talked to him, he was reduced to soft spoken stammers, shuffling of feet and even blushing! The big womanizer stammered and blushed, people!
I found that very disarming and charming and my theory since then has been that *that* could just have been how he managed to win all the ladies in his life over. And no: although I think he's a fantastic actor and director, this shy thing was *not* an act. I for one don't know of any academy award level or method actor who can blush on demand!

As far as big egos go: definitely the likes of Madonna, Naomi Campbell, the late Princess Margareth, Elizabeth Taylor, most of the new "stars" (the Britneys, Hohans, etc.) Diana Ross, Charlton Heston and so on and so forth.
I've heard that Michael Landon was quite a jerk at times.
In real life there's just as many egos, so I agree that it's not necessarily a "celeb" thing.

I bet Beyonce has a giant ego even though she doesn't deserve it. Same with JLo.
Humble. . . .Conan O'Brien
