Hollywood stars and their silver-screen doubles
Here's looking like you kid! Hollywood stars and their silver-screen doubles
The Golden Age of Hollywood glamour may be gone, but it's certainly not forgotten by today's celebrities who bear more than a passing resemblance to Tinseltown's bygone stars - as Brad Pitt proved in Cannes this week when he appeared looking startlingly similar to a young Robert Redford.
Here The Mail pays tribute to the silver screen icons and some of their modern-day lookalikes...
Pouting girls with pearl earrings: Uber-blondes Scarlett Johansson and 20th-century icon Marilyn Monroe
Great Gatsbys: Brad Pitt and Robert Redford
Moving in High Society: The majestic Helen Mirren and actress Celeste Holm
Everyone wants to be Cary Grant: Oceans star George Clooney is the 21st-century version of the debonair movie icon
Clowning around: Robbie Williams and knockabout comedian Norman Wisdom
They'll always be Funny Girls: Friends star Jennifer Aniston and diva Barbra Streisand, who graduated to Funny Lady
Same Chanel: Present and past faces of Chanel No 5, Nicole Kidman and Catherine Deneuve
Classic beauties: Hollywood royalty Gwyneth Paltrow and real royalty, Princess Grace
My Fair Lady: Tom Cruise's wife Katie Holmes, and the original beauty Audrey Hepburn
Six degrees of separation: Who can link Mystic River star Kevin Bacon to actor Chuck Connors?
Gents-about-town: Withnail And I star Richard E. Grant and the urbane David Niven
Going platinum: Singer Christina Aguilera and vamp Jean Harlow, sex symbol of the 1930s

Katie Holmes looks NOTHING ....absolutely NOTHING like Audrey Hepburn. Audrey Tautou looks like Audrey Hepburn. Idiots.

I don't see much resemblance for most of these, and frankly, today's actors just don't have the class of those of yesteryear. Katie Holmes as Audrey Hepburn? Gwyneth Paltrow as Grace Kelly? Puh-leez.

I can see the Paltrow/Kelly thing easier than a lot of these. (After seeing her in The Talented Mr. Ripley, it made sense, though lately she hasn't been very Grace Kelly-esque).....
But nobody has IT...that THING these other actors had. And even Clooney, who is the closest thing we have to a real old-fashioned movie star, doesn't touch it. He's close, but he's not there.
Most of these are retarded. Way to inflate already over-inflated egos.

Other than Clooney, Pitt, and Kidman none of these people look like their supposed doubles they are just wearing similar hats or have similar hairdos.

PLEASE do NOT compare Gwyneth Paltrow to Grace Kelly. Grace's beauty cannot be touched by very many women - least of all Paltrow.

To be honest I think I would have balked at the comparison of any of today's actresses with Grace Kelly. She wasn't much of an actress (Gwyneth is actually more convincing), but she was just so incredibly beautiful IMO, whereas Gwyneth is just ok.
Audrey Tautou, I agree with you, is Hepburn-esque, and that is the only comparison I would have accepted. I adore both of them.

Looks wise, Sharon Stone is much closer to Grace Kelly. Pitt is obviously Del Toro's twin, but then Del Toro is not classic Hollywood. Of this lot, Clooney is the only acceptable one.
