Should Angelina Jolie resume the relationship with her dad?

Do you think she should resume the Father/Daughter relationship with Jon Voight, or is she right to write him off completely?

I don't think these two ever really had a relationship to speak of. Why should she further fuck up her life (and the kids') now?

Jon Voight is pretty much a fame parasite. If she were a nobody she'd never hear from him.

I think he has talked to the press too often when he should have been talking to her. He also treated her Mother shabbily-hard to get over.

It's almost impossible to comment because none of us really know the actual relationship. That said, my own father and I do not have a relationship. I'm not open to having one with him, I have no animosity, all is forgiven but there is some big time history there. Why waste the rest of my life in hopes and struggles that one day it all might be right and all might be great, just because we share some genetic stuff? Sometimes it best to save the energy you might spend on toxic relationships and invest them in healthier ones.

Their relationship has probley never been substantial enough for Angelina to give it a real effort. She is most likely better off without her father in her life right now. Some relationships cannot be saved, even with parents. In all the interviews she has given of her father, he doesn't come off looking very good.

It must be pretty awful... he seems like a clueless famewhore to me, though I didn't always think so. I'm sure he's suffered a lot even though he's kind of a tool... she's certainly seen to that. I agree with edie, I don't know enough about it to make a good guess as to whether they should have a relationship or not. I'm guessing it will never happen. She's got a very strong united front with her brother. He seems to be all she needs as far as blood family goes.
