And yes, this is an amateur pic.

I once taught a "girl" of 20 in class -- that is, I thought she
was 20. She had the body of a figure skater and a face
that was free of wrinkles.

I asked her what news she had, and she said
proudly that her son

was starting university...

which would make her 40.

It was unbelievable.

A lot of them have conspicuous moles, however.
I was too polite to mention it....

so they don't have bad wrinkles the way Westerners do,
but they have other problems due to stress.

I'm Asian and I think I look young to most Westerners. I always get IDed everywhere and even when I show my ID, ppl usually don't believe how old I am. It kinda sucks when you go out with your friends for a drink and the server refuses to get you any alcohol so you get your friends to buy you one but the server complains that it's against the law to buy drinks for minors and calls out the manager.

Not to discount genes, but I think it's also that Asian women in general take better care of their skin and overall health. How many of them to do you see frequenting the tanning salons, for instance?

No,
but you'll see they indulge in "skin whitening cremes" to make
their skin whiter, less Asian. It's sold everywhere; in Japan,
TV commercials blared the virtues of Pond's Double-White;
in Korea, they sold something called SK-II Whitening Source,
which does the same thing.

There are news reports that similar cremes, sold in the Dominican
Republic, have a high mercury content and have caused birth defects.
I hear the skin cremes in Asia have a different active ingredient.

I'm using Ponds Double White.
But let me tell you, I'm not trying to look less Asian and more White.
I used to go tanning when I was in my early 20's and the tan has somehow stayed on me even though I stopped going. I'm reminiscing about my childhood and how my skin looked so fair and light like Snow White literally.

Fair skin was something that was valued even b4 the Europeans ever stepped foot in Asia. This is a historical fact. Japanese aristocratic women were already wearing powder (to appear fair skinned) in Heian period (794-1192) and I'm sure much earlier in China. Portugese jesuits (first Euro/Japan contact) only came to Japan in the 14th century.
