The rapid aging due to smoking and drinking is bad enough as it is, and extra shocking to see in such a short morph. But you can also tell if a person is drinking a lot by the growth (and changing shape) of their nose. All men get bigger noses as they age, but in cases like Mel's, it all just goes so much faster. Deep wrinkles in a forehead are also often telling signs of alcohol abuse.

I was so in love with Mel in the 80s -- I loved The Year of Living Dangerously. I'd forgotten how handsome he was.
He's such a freak now. It's so sad.

Wasn't he filming a movie or something when he had the big beard? I believe he was. Looks like normal aging to me.
