In these pics, he rather seems happier with Linda than with Heather IMO.

He does seem happier with Linda. You can tell they really loved each other. In the pictures with Heather, he looks a little mournful. I hate that two piece lace outfit she's wearing. So un-classy.

I think considering the love story between Linda and Paul, doesn't matter how much of a saint Heather was, she'd never ever be able to compare with Linda

Did all you know that Paul and Linda had two seperations in their marriage too? Both occurring because Paul got fed up with her near constant pot smoking. He's been on the sticky wicket a couple of times because she was always carrying Mary Jane in her belongings but most of the time they were only warned and not arrested.

Those pictures prove nothing. I could just as easily pick out 5 pictures of him NOT smiling with Linda in his presence and 5 of him smiling with Heather.

Well, of course he was happier with Linda. He was married to her for 30 years and would have still been with her had she not died. He's divorcing Heather after 4 years.

It's been in several books about the Beatles, one most notably by Peter Brown called "The Love You Make" and the seperations were kept very quiet and occurred very quickly. Linda just kept hauling the damn ganja around and getting Paul in semi trouble according to Brown.
