Your Country's Next Top Model

we had something like this with the miss and mister of the countries and i've heard quite a few countries have this show and since "germany's next top model" just won this week i am wondering what the other wannabe top models look like.

so here are the last 3 from germany:

winner:
i was pretty sure she was going to win as she has a very alterable face

this is the winner with the 2. place girl

2. place:
didn't like her (you can't really see it in these pictures but she always pulled one corner of her mouth up - kinda like elvis - or she left her mouth a bit open and showing her tongue)

3. place:
i liked the way she looked the best, different and a bit exotic

We don't actually have the show in the UK but last year we had 'make me a supermodel' presented by Rachel HUnter, which was almost the exact same thing.

Alice Sinclair came first. I really liked her. She's was very gracious and naturally pretty

This girl, Jo Downes came second (she was much prettier when 'done up')

And *I think* this girl, kate Ellery came in third place: (bit weird looking but pretty with makeup)

How did this show start?? Does anyone know?? Was the US's Tyra Banks show the first and other countries followed?? Or was there another version on in another country that she took and slapped on US TV??? Just curious if anyone knew...

The chicks in the US version are all insane...

the US has tyra banks for the show, UK had rachel hunter and germany had heidi klum. do the other countries have famous models from their country?

^^Is Tyra involved in the other shows abroad?? Like does she have her hands in it, therefore gets paid for those shows as well?? I freaking HATE her if that's the case...bitch.

i think so, she's a producer. just check the credits and see if her name is on them.

Is this the German show where Heidi Klum was criticised for telling a contestant she was too fat?

yeah, that was on the german show. i didn't see that but i heard from someone who saw it that she didn't say it but someone from the jury.
it was all over german papers that those skinny girls were called fat and heidi was in a german talkshow and talked a lot of shit, defending the whole thing. she said that she does not believe that young girls see models and want to be that thin and feel pressure and might get a eating disorder because of it.

Well, considering the sick skeletons we see on catwalks I guess Heidi just told the truth, and most stylists obviously have the same opinion.

She should have been smart enough to keep her mouth shut though, it's already wrong enough to apply those selecting criteria during regular castings, let alone say that in front of the entire country.

The host for Top Model Norway was third runner up or something in Miss World (or Miss Universe) a couple of years back.
