'Runaway Bride' Bobblehead doll
Remember this girl?
That's Jennifer Wilbanks, the famous runaway bride. She "ran away from home on April 26,
2005, in an effort to avoid her wedding with John Mason, her fiancé,
on April 30. Her disappearance from Duluth, Georgia, sparked a nationwide search and intensive media coverage. ...She claimed falsely that she had
been kidnapped and sexually assaulted by a hispanic male and a white woman.
It turns out she was just kiddin'.
Well, no she's been immortalized as a bobble-head:
Quote:
The Gwinnett Gladiators will have a little fun this weekend.
The first 1,000 fans to show up at Sunday afternoon's game at the Arena at Gwinnett with the Pensacola Ice Pilots will receive a “runaway bride” bobblehead doll.
The minor league hockey team, in a release, said, “Any similarity to actual persons is unintended and purely coincidental.”
The doll includes a veil, a bouquet, a sweatshirt that reads “I Love Duluth,” and a bus ticket stamped “Albuquerque.”
Doors open at 3 p.m. Sunday.
According to sources, the family of Jennifer Wilbanks -- the real “runaway bride” -- is aware of the giveaway.

Re: 'Runaway Bride' Bobblehead doll
Hmm, maybe I should get one. One day at work her picture came on the news and an old geezer, apparently blind man I work with told me she looks like me. Uh, just because I have dark hair and eyes doesn't mean we look alike. I don't walk around with my eyes bugging outta my head. I have a laugh every time I see her.

They SOOOOOO did not get the eyes right on that doll. It's be so much better with gigantic scary eyes.
And BC I would've been mortified to have been told that! Although, if she'd squint she may be pretty.

I so wanted to beat the shit outta her when they found out she had made the whole thing up. It took the resources away from other cases.
But then again, with all the jokes about her, she got her due.

The bobblehead doll looks looks sane unlike herself.

My thoughts exactly! Where are the freak show eyes?? And I too wanted to beat the snot out of this chick--who the hell does she think she is pulling that kind of crap and then thinking it's no big damn deal?? Should've thrown her ass in jail, fined the shit out of her, and made her to community service. She got off EASY.
BTW: Does anyone know if she is still with that long suffering fiancee of hers?

HOW THE RUNAWAY BRIDE IS STILL TAKING PALS FOR A RIDE
Friday February 24, 2006
Runaway Bride Jennifer Wilbanks is making a mockery of the pain she caused her family and friends when she disappeared four days before her lavishly planned wedding.
The now-infamous bug-eyed brunette from Georgia is going round signing autographs like a celebrity. And she broke a promise not to open any of the $10,000 worth of gifts she got from 600 disappointed wedding guests until she really ties the knot.
"Jennifer sent out a letter to guests saying she was keeping the gifts but would only open them after she got married," said a family friend. "Well, she broke that promise. The gifts have been opened."
Wilbanks and her loyal fiancé John Mason have also been living it up, spending huge chunks of the reported $500,000 they got for the sale of their life story.
The National Enquirer can reveal that John has bought a $322,000 home in an exclusive development in Dacula, Ga., and a new Chevy Tahoe. Jennifer moved in with him and has a new BMW. "They're spending money like they're stars. It's a shame because of all the suffering her family went through and the efforts of all those who searched for her. Jennifer's just mocking them," said an insider.

Re: 'Runaway Bride' Bobblehead doll
I go to Gwinnett a lot. I hope one day I will run into her.
Wait, maybe not.
I'd probably be scared. Her eyes are scary.
