Celebrity Skate-By's: Throwing out a bit of news in the midst of a media frenzy

I wanted to start a thread if people can think of it. For example I thought of how Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon tossed out their separation in the middle of Brittany Murphy's press.

I'm wondering if celebrities who want to announce something that they want to slip under the radar wait until there's something major in the news to distract from the story?

I thought about Tiger Woods and considered that throwing out a divorce in the middle of that would just be throwing gasoline into a fire because the topics were similar. Seems to me these two snuck this out right by Christmas and Brittany's death in order to sneak it by.

Curious if there are other stories that come to mind where you think celebrities have done this?

It's old news, but if you recall Nicole Ritchie surrendered to jail the night Lindsay went on one of her many rampages...

Actually I think it was Nicole's lawyer who basically said Lindsay's lawyer called her up to let her know that this would be a good time to go under the radar!

Oh god, I think I've been hanging out here too long. I've just tried to google Farrah Fawcett's time of death to compare to MJ's to see who stole who's thunder...
