This gives us a whole new insight into the depths of her egotism.
You remember that movie To Die For, with Nicole Kidman playing the
small-town news anchor who wanted to murder her husband because
he was holding her back? There's a scene at hubby's funeral where she
brings a ghetto blaster to it (!) and at a key moment plays the song
Eric Carmen's "All by Myself" -- because his funeral was just an
episode in her drama, and she needed a soundtrack for it.
(The other mourners were aghast, and not without reason.)
This is exactly what Paris suffers from -- a complete and utter
disregard for the feelings of others. It never entered her head
that her entrance would play out differently than she dreamed.
