I wouldnt call her a tennis star, she struggles to win matches.
And, I am confused as to why she's on the cover.

A tennis star is someone who has:
- won a grand slam
- won a few major tournaments
- ranked in the top 10 and etc
Going by her historical results I wouldnt call Ashley a 'tennis star'. Tell me what's her grand slam record like??
If you want a tennis star look at - Maria, Williams, Hingis, Henin.
So please do not confuse Ashley with the real tennis stars in the world who have earned that status. Posing in a playboy mag does not improve her tennis skills and results. Which means I was not saying something for the sake of posting.

Exactly, just because she put on the uniform, and picked up a racquet..doesn't make her a star at all! I watch a lot of Tennis, and well I wouldn't even call her an ok player, let alone a star!

if she is a star it will be because she took her clothes off. or just because she's pretty. look at Anna Kournikova. she has never won anything worth talking about. she's just famous because of her looks. Millions of people buying the mag because its playboy, not because its sports illustrated. i say something because i know what i'm talking about dear.

Are these the photos that will be in the magazine, or are they pre-publication?
Because the razor burn and regrowth on her pubic area is not what I would call attractive by any means.
Although I am happy to see a woman without implants land the cover.

SSdiva, I agree - she's a very mediocre player.
She became a pro tennis player back in 2000 and has yet to win a tournament. But appearing in Playboy has made her 'tennis star' lol

Please, just change it to "tennis player" so there won't be a big debate over someone that everyone seems to know so much about, but yet she isn't a star.

She looks great, but it's a stretch to refer to her as a star. Playboy basically made her a star.

anyone who watches tennis will be familiar with the players in the top 100 but that doesn't make them stars. and in women's case, it doesn't even necessarily make them very good players. i'm a huge tennis fan but i almost only watch men's tennis - women's tennis is boring and the level is nowhere near what the men's is. it's always the same 10 players that win and the rest don't even stand a chance, whereas with men's tennis i find there is more consistency and you can have a number 100-something with a stellar game.
