You're right. I can't really say that I ever saw him in a movie where I was like "wow, George Clooney is a great actor" or "gee, George Clooney really brought that movie/character etc to life".

I don't think he's a "great" actor, but I think he's damn good: he's entertaining and he makes interesting choices. Remember O, Brother, Where Art Thou? Although I still saw George Clooney, what I saw was his jester side. And lemme tell you: there's many sides to George Clooney! What I love about him is how he jokes about his sex-symbol status. He doesn't buy into the hype, he just makes fun of it. Very endearing.
