She wasn't all that pretty in that movie that she did with Claire Danes; I think after that she started working on her looks more.

Shows what a hollywood makeover can do for you. Not to say that she wasn't pretty before...but her look is much more polished...

I'm trying to work out what Kate did to her face; it looks fatter here or something. Apparently she's had loads of surgery, but I can't figure out what is meant by that. Her face appears to have changed though.

I remember finding out a couple of years ago that she was in Kenneth Branaugh's Much Ado About Nothing, which came out some 15 years ago. I would never have connected the dots by looks alone. She's completely boring as Hero, the chick desperately in love and wanting to get married.

I can't work out what she has had done either, she looks very different now though.

I know, I had to watch that in english class in highschool years ago, and it was funny, it was around the time 'sexy Kate Beckinsale' had emerged on the scene and a guy in our class said 'Hey that girl looks like an uglier version of Kate Beckinsale'.

and the teacher goes 'Um, it IS her' and he goes 'No, its her uglier sister or something, Kate is prettier'.

Yup. I have a soft spot for pre-Hollywood Kate Beckinsale - she was very good and really lovely in Cold Comfort Farm - but these photos aren't flattering.
