I didn't think she was a good actress either, until I saw "Inglourious Basterds".

I think she did an absolutely terrific job. Her character appears in what I think is destined to be considered an all-time classic scene (takes place in a bar). It just blew me away. I think everyone in the theater had the same reaction.

I don't want to spoil anything by giving away what finally happens, but she is portraying someone who is undercover and trying to put up a front against some tough odds. And yet, you sort of don't know whose side she is really on. Just an awesome scene, with at least four other characters who are putting out a great performance. I could watch it again and again and again.

thank you very much for your explanation MohandasKGanja! it really made me curious for the movie I have to watch it! It is still in a few theatres where I live but my boyfriend doesn't want to watch it because he thinks the movie is too much about American patriotism. I have to convince him to come with me

You're welcome. I don't think the movie is really about American patriotism. The so-called heroes are a mix of American, German, British, and Italian characters. And Pitt's character is some kind of redneck from Appalachia -- more amusing than heroic. To me, it seemed like kind of a shlocky sendup/satire of rah-rah war movies. I also have to warn you that the movie is very violent -- at first, my wife was pretty freaked out at what was going on on the screen.

I thought so! Because Tarantino is not very well known for being a patriot. And thank you for the warning. I've seen all Tarantino movies so far so I think I can handle this one too
