Maybe they chose it because it took less photoshopping than the older ones.
Feminine or not- I don't think it's a terrible photo, considering the subject.

I think that picture is from his "In the Closet" video. I watched it the other night - forgotten how awkward and laughable it was to think he was sexing up on Naomi Campbell.
Meh, it's an okay shot. He'd started letting the freak flag fly a little, but it was kind of an in between stage before he really said to hell with it and started looking like a complete weirdo.
