Travel experiences: nice and not-nice cities

Jersey in the Channel Island, full of rude, arrogant, judgemental people. Everyone there is obsessed with $$$, and the people who dont have any money are juat as awful. They bust your balls if they think you dont fit in there. Its just a tiny little island but everyone there has about 3 cars and they zoom around the island like absolute maniacs. I worked there for 6 weeks and felt INSANE by the time I left. The island itself is very beautiful but ruined by the snobby people who dont know how lucky they are.

It's a tax haven with lots of offshore 'private' banks - rich shits live there.

Me and my bf went to Nice last year and thought it was a really nice place apart from when we went shopping. Everyone in the shops were very polite but we went for something to eat and it was a nice day so we sat outside the restaurant and half way through my meal some dirty stinking tramp came running over to us saying 'please! please!' holding her hand out for money and showing me a picture of some disgusting looking thalidomide man. I am not heartless, I feel sorry for people like this and I would happily give money to charities to help but shoving a horrific picture like that in my face while Im trying to eat just isn't the right way to go about it!

The next day we wnt inside a restaurant to eat so as not to get harrassed but an old man came into the restaurant and did the same kinda thing. But this time he had a load of copies of pictures of children lying on the floor in puddles of water and muck, obviously starving. But this just irritates me, I don't like to be approached in this manner, if I want to give money I will. I will never give money to ppl like this it just encourages them.
