I live in Adelaide. Should I even bother telling you about that? We're referred to as the City of Corpses (a play on the real term, city of Churches, which seems strange as we don't seem particularly religious here). We have the weirdest and most brutal murders in Australia. Given the mentality here, I'm not suprised

Ha! I used to live in the city that was hardest hit by the California Santa Anas (Simi Valley), where gusts of 70 mph were not uncommon.

I'm in san diego now, and we are having a bitch of a Santa Ana, with a fire watch. Good times.

I'd rather come to you, although your cold weather would kill me since my coldest day is probably your hottest one!

Melbourne has the best clothes shopping in Australia and the best restaurants. It was Melbourne where Janie Oliver set up one of hi 21 restaurants.

Even if you aren't into sport go and see and Austrlain Rules game and pick a team to follow. More people in Melbourne support a team then go to church. It is uncanny how often the talk about Australian Rules.

You will definitely have to do a side trip to South Australlia and see some of their amazing churches and go to teh original home of Haighs chocolates.

If you are still there this time next year get tickets to the Australian Open tennis as you will have a ball there, even if you aren't hugely into tennis.

Melbourne also has good venues for stand up comedians.

Lucky you going to Melbourne, you will have a fantastic time. Make sure you do a trip to Ballarat as t has some fascinating history about the Gold Rush.

If you are into sweeter wines and ports, Victorie is the home of Brown Brothers who make a tasty port.

Oh I am so excited for you.

I have also been told that the coffee is fantastic in Melbourne. They have a huge Greek coomunity so

I am with A*O with this one...The great southern land is the greatest place on earth....never fear my dears it is so.Pound for pound we are the best....just ask yourself a small question????

Why are we so renoun throughout the world with such a small population????

Why are we the best sports people on the planet, with world class teams winning major sporting events all the time....for the population we have...is it the climate?...Or maybe the money we pump into our sports stars.....what with only 7 million tax payer...you are kidding me.

Another question....who are up there as the best actors in the world...female and male???

What are our singers like????...from a island of 20 million people....may i say the population of the county of LA in the USA....or the city of NY.

Don't start me on this one as we have a Island free of exotic animal deseases that is second to none....and the Japanse wanted it right or wrong...Thank Christ for the yanks in the battle of the Coral sea or the bastards would have it now.

We are a very proud people that stands second to no-one.Just ask El MacPherson and Greg Norman or Kylie or maybe R Murdock what and how we are.

We are a island with no borders,we are our own Continent and country....I live near the tropic of Capricorn....what the foock is winter...I have never seen snow.

    HAHAHAHA!

    Must have been sunday.

I look at this debate like this:

    - Schools, Person who failed at high school in sydney and would not be allowed into uni here goes on to be hon student at NYU. ( I know her - not that bright either )
    - Our schools have not had any shootings so the life expectancy past 18 is good.
    - Coffee - we have starbucks ( for the ill educated on coffee ) but we also have a large greek / italian / turk influence in our cafe scene so we know what real coffee is like ( melbourne beats syd for coffee - its an art there in sydney we just use it for the caffeine )
An EM is like a Scientologist - Unhinged and Unbelievable - Now shutup and place your hands on my EM-Meter
