I can't stand it. Picture of Scotland make me weepy. I absolutely MUST go there someday.

My mother's the same way. She's been desperate to go to Scotland and Wales for long time now. I guess it's an ancestral thing since we're scot/welsh.

I've done quite a bit of research, and almost all of my anscestors were from England, and quite a few from Wiltshire specifically. But I haven't found any from Scotland Strange, because I have always had a very strong emotional connection to Scotland, similar to what I feel for England (even before I knew of my ancestry).
Oddly, I feel zippo, nada, nothing for Ireland. Well, that's not entirely true. Thinking about it kind of annoys me.

Wiltshire is lovely, I used to live in Cheltenham which is in the same area (just north in Gloucestershire) and I loved it!

I think a lot of people feel a strong pull towards Scotland. I would guess that it's because it's sooooo old and with all our history and whatnot. Or maybe it's the fairies. Who knows.

I don't think my mother knows where her ancestors were from. At least on the Welsh side of the family, most of the info is in the family bible/family tree which is written all in Welsh And the last names of the Scot/Welsh lineage are extremely common (Johnson and Evans) so if my mother and I decide to look into this it's going to be tough

My husband's a Scot, and his cousin just moved back there and I want to go visit her, and go see Campbell castle. Hell I want to see it all!

Aww! . Unfortunately the tourist board hide me from public view so I don't look all grouchy at the tourists and scare them off.

You can come visit me, love, I'll let you scare all the tourists you want!
Its great weather for ducks, isn't it? Unfortuantely I've just heard that our water company is charging a "rain tax" for getting rid of all the rain water... but we're not on main's drainage.... Our summer bill more than tripled!
