India has always been a love/hate proposition. Everyone I know was upset, angry, sad and enchanted by the place. That's why it's so interesting.

i'm probably going to india next year. i've been wanting to go for years. i can't believe people are so fixated on a couple of things that they've heard without bothering to know more about the country. it's also true that some people can't handle the harsh reality of poverty and third-world conditions. but the vast majority of people i know who have travelled to india love it, and many have returned many times and say it's one of the most fascinating places they've ever been.

I'd love to go to India. My husband's father was born and spend his childhood there.

Venice is beautiful. I went there in December - no smell, no crowds. I love how there are no cars and you have to walk everywhere or use a water taxi. St Mark's Bascilica has to be seen to be believed.

I've got really itchy feet right now. All this travel talk!

You should see the drunken Chavs doing that on the average British high street on a Saturday night

ZEvery place has its pluses and minuses. I'm sure all the bad things are true but there will be some gorgeous and good things there too.

i love venice best in winter. and avoid it at all costs in summer. it's just awful. swarming with tourists (the dumb, fanny-pack-and-bermudas-souvenir-t-shirt-wearing ignorant kind) and hot and unbearably humid and stinky and more expensive than usual.
