I think India would be interesting to see. Yeah the poverty and squalor and 'sanitation issues' might be a problem, but more than compensated for by the scenery..Taj Mahal, Himalayas, food, culture, that city where the monkeys who live there can do whatever they want( ) temples, shrines, beaches, etc. etc.

I'm really a fan of cleanliness and not having to worry about stepping in any kind of shit while on a city street..

I still think India would be way more beautiful than Cincinnati!! There are no doubt certain places that are fabulous-all theses people or voting. Don't you ever watch any of the Bollywood movies? I love them & it seems a beautiful country.

I would love to go to India! I love Indian culture but I'm not sure if I could handle the reality over there though. Poverty, dirt, too much people etc... But I still want to see it.

McJag I am so surprised a southern girl like you has even heard of Bollywood. Do you recall the names of any of the BW movies you've seen?

Yeah, no. I'm sure it's a great place and all, but not for me. I like cleanliness and roads and street signs....

YES--they do in India as well. The filth, the poverty. The lower class sector of society is treated very poorly (my friend did not elaborate on that), and there are animals just wandering the streets at all times (even in the 'better' sections') and animal cruelty is common place. Dogs are routinely beaten. She was mortified by the lack of any compassion for animals and the lower class...they were basically one in the same. It scared the hell outta her.

Wow, I'm surprised, no offence meant.

Talking of Italy, is it true Venice smells?

Unless you're a cow, they can walk anywhere unrestricted, I guess it sucks if you're just not a "sacred" animal.
