got back from easter island on monday, it was the last 'big' thing on my 'things to see in chile while i'm living here' list. i really liked it. i liked it a lot more than i thought i would actually. and i thought the island was pretty beautiful in and of itself, not just moai. it's got a beautiful, rugged coastline, it's volcanic - you can hike up to 2 or 3 craters, and it's got gorgeous, rolling hills and beautiful colours. and the ocean is so blue it even looks fake.

how long did you stay there? i met a canadian while i was in brazil who was wearing a t-shirt from easter island so i asked him about it but i made the same mistake again. i said: "i heard it's not that interesting?" and he was like "oh no, you're completely wrong about that!" and then went on to tell me about it. i like your pictures. it does like very beautiful! he also told me that the galápagos were worth visiting...? i didn't dare mention to him that i had always heard they're very touristy. hey, while we're on the topic of islands... i should tell you. i'm going to socotra in february. also going to sana'a if i have enough time because i'd love to visit that city.
