not really. i didn't have my slr camera yet when i went to the observatories and because you go at night, it's not the best time to take pics, plus there are other people there so it's not like you can just set up your tripod and do long exposure shots of the actual place. i did do some of the sky but i'm not sure what i did with them, can't seem to find them. so basically the only place with good light for pictures is through the telescopes themselves.
they're so cool though, i love being in observatories with the domed roofs and weird equipment. there's one place in atacama run by this crazy french dude that's just awesome. you forget it's past midnight and fucking freezing and just want to stay there forever peering into telescopes and having him explain the cosmos. great hot chocolate too!

damn, i think the antennas and the equipment are much more interesting to look at than the moon. your visit sounds awesome though.

i actually really like the equipment too, even if i don't understand what most of it is for.

yes, my camera is a canon. i got the eos rebel t1i, which is called the 500d in europe. it's not a super fantastic professional camera (wasn't too keen on spending 2000 dollars on just the body) but you can put pretty much every canon lens on it so overall it's pretty sweet.

hey, i remember you'd asked me about architecture in santiago so i thought i'd show you the new cultural centre. this used to be the armed forces building under pinochet (a very concrete bunker type building, typical of the 70s) and then it burned down about 4 years ago but wasn't completely destroyed so what they did is kind of preserve some of the old structure and totally renovate it (sort of like the tate modern is an old building made new by modern architecture). they just finished it. it's caused a scandal here because a lot of people hate it. i absolutely adore it but people are more traditional and tend to like their typical glass skyscrapers and nothing too daring or different.
