I've only ever used Orbitz, had no problems.. I looked around and they were all about the same in price or they'd match it.

Orbitz calls you before your flight to let you know everything is running on time, I love that feature!

Well, I am not sure about that but I know certain dates/days do cost more if you book them.

I prefer to search for flights using an Orbitz-type place and then book them through the airline's website (if you're using one carrier). The airlines usually charge less to change a flight if you need to and don't charge booking fees like the Orbitz-type places do.

    Also, try Kayak.com.

Usually they charge the lowest fare if you buy three weeks before, a little more if it's two weeks before, and a lot more if it's within the last two weeks. However, you can get some good last-minute deals if they need to fill seats, especially if you are willing to fly on a Saturday.

^ I also do that. I search on Orbitz and Expedia then usually book on the airline's website. It's usually a little cheaper since they don't charge as high of fees

If you're in departing/arriving in a JetBlue airport, I suggest them. I've used JetBlue for all my flights this past year. It's super cheap and a great flying experience... I bought tickets like 3 weeks ago and paid $320 for round trip from DC to San Jose, CA... Probably the best deal I've seen ever!!!

Other than that I've used Expedia pretty regularly for hotels and rental cars.

Momondo.com is also a great site. It's become my new fave.
