Default Come take a walk through Quebec City with me

I just took a 3 hour walk downtown and as I snapped alot of pics along the way I thought I would invite you along with me I didn't go inside the fortifications (although I did walk on them for a while) to the heart of the city or into the lower city but follow me and you'll see where I've been

    This is the Palais Montcalm:

Here you get your first view of one Quebec City's gates Porte St-Jean:

A closer view of Porte St-Jean

Commemorative sign on the Porte St-Jean

Welcome to Artillery park right inside the Porte St-Jean

Well go for a little visit inside Artillery park okay?

This is a view of Porte St-Jean from the other side (inside the Artillery park)

Now we're going to enter Artillery park

    Cannon anyone?

Now we'll go to the Officer's Quarters...too bad they're long gone...I bet there were a few hot guys in uniforms even if Alice thinks us French are all greasy lol

We're in the barracks sector now...

This is a view of the barracks from behind

Not sure who this guy is but he started playing bag pipes.

Fire! Fire! Haha okay no bad joke, it's an outdoor oven:

    Her oven more specifically

Okay lets leave Artillery park and go onto the fortifications...Do I really have to climb those?

Here's a view of part of Artillery park from the top of the Porte St-Jean

No pics of the funicular??? Just teasing

More cannons, I swear there are cannons all over this city...

Well I made it to the top! So we're going to follow the trail

Looking back here is what I see (we used to jump over those holes when we were young...)

    Okay let's continue forward

Now we get to walk along the fortifications

    Really? Danger of falling? No!

Oh hey there's the Chateau Frontenac

This is our parliament with our brand new fountain in front that was imported from France (pic taken from the fortifications)

    Lets continue walking

Shit! I can't believe I've lived here for years and forget there was a fence here now I'll have to jump down the wall.

These are my feet...I'm debating if I jump or try to climb the fence...the fence looks really prickly...

Okay I did end up jumping...it wasn't that bad.

    The St-Louis Gate

    Oh horsey!

This the Quebec Esplanade, I didn't really go in.

    Another view of Porte St-Louis

Want to make a wish? Here's the Fontaine de Tourny upclose. I made a wish but I'm not telling you what it is

    Here's the Quebec Parliament upclose

This is the monument that honours dead soldiers

Some soldiers have died recently and people have left flowers

Okay let's go to the Plaines now

Okay I have to upload more pics and I'll continue after

This is the Concorde. It's a rotating restaurant

    Walking along the Plaines

Oh look a Martello tower. These were built by the English

This is the view from the back of an old prison. It's now a museum I believe

This is a museum located on the Plaines of Abraham

Oh look they're setting up the stage for Celine Dion's show Friday *yawn*

Another view of the old prison. My sisters used to play hide and seek in there when they were teens and the building was condemned.

This is Wolfe's monument. Wolfe was the British general who fought the battle for Quebec against the French in 1759. The British won but both generals from both armies, Wolfe & Montcalm, died on the battlefield that day. The monument represents the place where Wolfe died.

Not far away is this well:

Well that's all the pics I took. I hope you enjoyed your little tour of Quebec City
