What to do in Vancouver, BC
Hey Vancougars!
My BFF's coming down here for her first time and I already have the Aquarium/Capilano Suspension Bridge and Commercial Drive on the agenda...are there any other hotspots you can give a gal fairly new to the place herself?

She'll be here from Tomorrow (the 19th) to Sunday the 23rd. I've been to Ginger 62 (LOVE the mexican beats) and also Stone Temple, cool upper room/bar. Wish there were a cool concert on at the Commodore, but no such luck.

Just wanted to say...(in honour of Alice)
There's Taco Tuesday going on tonight at Caramel Salon in Maple Ridge...
There are some funky bars and lounges on Main Street with live bands n stuff. I like that area, I call it Funky Main. And if you go there during the day, there are neat antique places and consignment stores you get to shop or window-shop. I quite like it there.
As for clubs downtown, places that might be cool are Republic, Caprice, Sky Bar and I would definitely check out one of the gay clubs (cuz I love gay clubs and drag shows...Odyssey is my fave club).

Ya they have a strip show! Yea Celebrities gets packed as hell, too but it looks to me like it's kinda mixed genders you know, both hetero and homo, I mean it used to be a gay club but since it got renovated or re-newed or whatever happened, it just looks mixed to me.
But Odyssey is totally my fave club, you guys should go. The strip show is Saturday, maybe that's the one you're thinking of, it's called Go-Go Gods, they'll have 3 strip shows.
I think they have the drag show on Sunday, I'd go to that, too! Like, if I could, I'd go there every night LOL.

I thought Skybar was no more?
How about Chinatown? DO you have a car? Drive up to Cypress Mountain and check out the view. Or take the gondola up to Grouse. I like the rooms on Main St as well . For good old tradition, have a drink at the Sylvia hotel. Science World is actually pretty fun. The River Rock casino is pretty cool.

I didn't know Skybar got closed, it was actually a long while ago I went there. Huh, I would've thought it would re-open.
I think Science World is fun for all ages. I even took my dad there when he came to visit me.
Georgia Straight is a pretty good source for all kinds of events happening in Van.

My only advice would be 'don't go to Chinatown after dusk without an armed guard'.
But then, that's probably true of most cities.
