Would/could you emigrate?
Would you leave your country, or would you be too homesick. Have you ever done it and loved it, or regretted it?

Did it. Love it. No regrets AT ALL.

Once my kids are grown, I am seriously considering Canada. Will see in about ten years.

I think I would but it depends on a lot of things. Would need a good job. And someone to be with, I don't think i'd be able to leave my SO behind. Unless it was an extremely good job.

Right now I would because of all this snow but ask me again in 3 months and probably not.

The world is a very small place these days. You may look at the map and think "oh my God, it's 20,000 miles away" but in fact it's a day on a plane. Think of time, not distance. And the internet, email, etc has made the transition even smaller. And the thing is, if you emigrate and hate it, you can always go back 'home' again! There's no shame in admitting you tried it and hated it. Better that than say "Oh I'd never dare do something like that" and then 20yrs down the track bitterly regret you didn't take the opportunity when it was offered.

I couldn't leave my friends and family behind. But if I absolutely had to leave the U.S. I'd emigrate to either France or Italy.

I think if I HAD to move, I would be just as happy in Austrailia,England,Scotland or even Canada. As long as I understood most of the language spoken, I'd be ok.

I've been living abroad for several years. I still think there is no place like home, and I miss my family a lot, but it does get easier as time goes by. I was awfully homesick at first and once in a while still feel really sad about seeing the people back home so seldom, but I don't cry my eyes out at Thanksgiving anymore.
I'm very grateful for e-mail and low phone rates. Without them, it would be unbearable.

It depends on the location I suppose. Could I emigrate to say, Tokyo Japan? Fuck no. I would be driven insane by being surrounded by hordes of people 24/7. I need the psychological buffer of knowing I can drive for 40 mins out of any city and be totally alone. I need my wide open spaces.
Now, could I emigrate to somewhere like.. Tahiti? Oh god yes. Australia? Sure.
Europe might be a possibility, though it appears rather cramped in nature. Would I miss Canada? Of course.

Yes, I could do it. As long as I have my dog, cats and the BF. I'm fine I would miss America, but I would still do it.

In a heartbeat! One thing I love about my lifestyle is that I could sell everything and disappear within a week if I wanted to.

Grimm the prospect of space is one of the things that appeals about Canada. California is fairly crowded to me.

Yes, i would. While i was born and raised in England i have absolutely NO English blood, so i'd love to properly 'go home' (blood wise) to Lithuania.
