Default What Are Your Favorite Countries?

Not trying to start a war here or anything. This is not about what countries/nations you don't like but about those that you particularly DO like.

1. USA(naturally)
2. Canada(been there and liked it)
3. Australia(seems alot like the US in many ways)..I also include New Zealand with Australia.
4. United Kingdom(mother country)
5. Ireland(half Irish here..and of course produced my avatar! )

I guess I am biased toward the English-as-a-first-spoken language nations.
Anyone else? It is interesting to see where people are from and also the places they have visited and why they like them.

Well not France, thats for sure!

I like Spain because its where my family is from and when I've been there it just seems quite sophisticated and layed back

I havn't travelled to that many places to be honest so I can't really compare. Ask me in 2 months and I'm sure Mexico will be on my list!

Um.. Canada, I guess... haven't seen a lot of it, but it's peaceful and diverse.

The US was... interesting. So crowded though. I'm used to 5 hour drives between cities, not cities melding together

(the south had cool red dirt though.. who would have thought. Red dirt!... and the gulf of mexico was gorgeous)

I loved Holland - I'm part Dutch so it made it cooler.

I'll always love America.

I am DYING DYING DYING to visit Australia and Africa.

Those are my top three. I can't honestly say that I wouldn't want to visit anywhere, except maybe Bratislava...

Canada rocks, dudes!

I loved Scotland when we were there as well. The people were wonderful, the land was beautiful, and there was that old-world charm thing to a lot of the cities. Of course, it rained every day besides one (in a month-long period) but it was also sunny just about everyday - very dynamic weather.

I haven't seen that much of the U.S. My impression is that the states are pretty diverse, so it would be hard to judge the whole country based on just a few travels. I loved the New England states, Michigan I can take or leave (I lived right on the border). In any case, the place is big, so I imagine it's like Canada, not really possible to like or dislike the whole thing! I would love to do a U.S. road trip.

USA, of course, it's home
I had a great time in Jamaica, never had any of the problems people talk about, plus I got to climb a freaking waterfall!
Belgium, the people there were so nice and I had a great time with my host family
Holland was really fun too, plus I had a great time in Amsterdam (not THAT kind of fun )

I've never really been to Canada, so I can't judge. A 2 hour layover in some Canadian airport doesn't really count, I've set foot on Canadian soil though

So many great places in the world but I'd have to say Canada, despite the weather, and especially B.C. It really is one of the most spectacular places on earth and I've been to 50 countries. Then the U.S.-- love NYC, San Francisco and New Orleans, Australia, N.Z., Thailand, Indonesia, Brazil, France, Spain, Italy, Costa Rica, Jamaica (it is so beautiful and they have red earth and blue mountains), parts of Mexico, and Hawaii.

I would love to visit Sri Lanka and more islands in the South Pacific, plus I've never been to Africa or the middle east and both are high on my list of "must dos."

Yay for Belgium, birthplace of Dr. Evil! Belgium (Brussels in particular) has the best food and chocolate without all the hassles of the bigger European cities like Paris and London.
