I am not the greatest fan of modern architecture, but I like most of the modern things here, and nearly all of the other odd quirky stuff. It is different and at least not staid and boring.
I love the 'house attack'..
Brasilia Cathedral is wonderful and so evocative of the crown of thorns, so appropriate for Brasilia-maybe the best building there.
The Atomium is also classic-A giant model of an iron atom. I love it.
The Gaudi apartment building in Barcelona, Habitat, all classics.
Even the Longabegber building is cool. Hey, it is programmatic architecture at it's best-that is exactly what they make-baskets!

Some of these are so cool - I love the Kansas City library. I would love to see it in person. Wonderworks and House Attack are also pretty cool.
That olympic stadium in Montreal is ugly! How much did the architech make that designed that thing??

#12 does not exist. It was hyped, but there's no word on site, start date for construction, anything.

the lotus temple, habitat 67 (it even reminds me of tijuana in a way...love how the houses are all stacked upon each other; kind of amazes me), house attack, cubic houses & church of hallgrimur really speak to me. the picture of that church is stunning!
could the pic of that woodland home in wales be any cuter? crescent moon and all...it's just an adorable shot.

I think Montrealers are still paying for the olympic stadium. And since the Montreal Expos left, the building isn't used that much. Just for conventions and Monster truck shows. A few years ago, a huge chunk of the building broke off. It's a piece of crap IMO.

Getting drunk (or high) and walking past #2 would be interesting.

I love the library and #23, the palace.
**I just looked more into the Ideal Palace. It was built by a postman, by himself. It took about 20 years to build the outside. He just picked up stones on his route and constructed this home by night. That is amazing.

^^That is amazing. They're all awesome to look at. I think the Kansas City library is especially cute and clever. Wonder how long before they add the Twilight series to it. JOKING.

I was thinking the same thing. Also, would it look straight to a drunk person?

hmm.. construction has already been delayed a couple of times, i think..
and then there's also this minor detail:
Quote:
|
Architect David Fisher cheerfully admits he has never designed a skyscraper before, but his computer says this building can be constructed in an Italian factory, oven-ready for the end of 2010. So that's all right then.
