The Queensboro Bridge (or 59th Street Bridge) in NYC celebrates it's 100th anniversary. The title of Simon and Garfunkel's song Feelin' Groovy referred to going over the bridge because you vibrate as you ride on it.
The reason I'm posting about it is because it's been in many a movie:
King Kong (1976), The Great Gatsby, Nighthawks, Turk182, Spiderman, Escape from NY, The Tender Trap, opening shot of the "Taxi" tv show, Gossip Girl.
Woody Allen's shot in Manhattan made it look great. It's probably the ugliest bridge we have. I live close to it. It's steel and now painted a lovely shade of peach which will be rusted fairly soon.
The shot from "Manhattan".
They forgot Pillow Talk.
This video shows clips of the movies.
