Seems she only plumps her upper lip, for whatever reason - it's entirely out of proportion with the lower lip. I think she could look pretty decent if it wasn't for that monstrous upper lip.

Does anybody understand why both she and Meg Ryan thought this procedure was a good idea, by the way? Neither of them became famous for being the kind of actress who plays a lot on sex appeal and physical assets, both were cute and pretty in a girl-next-door kind of way, and both of them have ruined their looks with this stupid lip plumping shit.
I don't get it. Why not focus on what you have, in fact, got going for you?

She's so desperate to hang on to her youth (and Antonio) that she continues getting surgery. She doesn't realize what a freak show she has become.

Don't be so sure...

Firstly, thinking of Melanie's early work in the 1980s,
she did focus on her assets -- she got a lot of fame
from playing some sort of blonde party girl in Brian
dePalma's Body Double. Then there was the
party girl extraordinaire in Something Wild (1986).
And she had the reputation of being a "party girl,"
which implies a lot of drug use and sleeping around.

And she's never shied away from
nudity; she did a young (non-sexual) nude scene in
Arthur Penn's Night Moves at age 15 in 1975.

GOSSIP:
Don't ask me how he knew, but a guy I know says Melanie
got her big break because, on the casting couch, she had a
"magic p*ssy" and could do tricks that other girls couldn't be
bothered to learn. And I think it worked!
