What would you do if you won the lottery?

1. I'd get my face done

2. I'd hire a personal trainer and nutritionalist.

3. I'd buy a house boat, and live on it 'til I get bored. Then sink it...then evetnually pay for it to be cleaned up, because I don't want to litter.

4. Fund an orphanage, and make it look like a resort, not a hole.

5. Buy my way in to University.

6. Slap a politician, slap a rock star, slap an actor, slap Hilary Duff.

7. Move to Iceland and open up a spa.

Hmmm---

Set up trust funds for my kids, but not too big (want to make sure they have to work for a living).

Buy a house on the ocean in my favorite place in the world.

Buy every CD/Book/Movie I ever wanted but sometimes couldn't afford.

Eat really well and wash it all down with fab wine.

Donate to causes having to do with the environment, children and human rights.

Buy my in-laws a very luxurious prison, to which only I would hold the key. hehehehe.

I'd leave my shit hole of a job

Buy a huge, gorgeous house (I'm not sure where yet but somewhere overlooking the sea)

Buy a horse and pay someone to clean up it's poop so I can just ride it when I want

Hire a personal trainer so I could look great and feel great without ps!

I'd have a nose job I think, not that its big or anything but it's got a bump on the side that annoys me!

Buy an Austin Martin for my bf and a lamberguini for moi!

Buy my mum whatever she wanted.

Send my brother to a home!!

Piss everyone off and make them jealous!

1. Get an unlisted phone number. Let's face it --everyone you know
and have known for years will start treating you like a bank.

2. Get a Swiss bank account.

3. Hire a financial advisor on what to invest in.

4. Live modestly for the next three years -- a bigger apartment
would be in order, but I wouldn't trade it in for a mansion.

5. Think about how to make money.

Seriously, winning a lottery is not the same as learning how to
make millions through investments -- it doesn't make you a financial
genius. A lot of people have won the lottery, spent it all and
gone broke.

As for spending...which is what you REALLY meant by this question...

1. I'd live in an old city in Europe that doesn't demand that you
have a car to get around in;

2. Designer suits and men's shoes by HUGO BOSS

3. Furniture from places like this: the Bombay co.

4. Become better acquainted with vacation resorts like the Ibah in Bali
and the Raffles Hotel in Singapore.

I can't even fathom what I would do. I'd wipe out every financial/legal problem I have, buy a horse and a small home on a point with marsh on one side and ocean on the other. I'd take a month away from everyone and read every book in the world. I'd eat decadent food and drink wonderful wine. And hire a cook.

The fam doesn't need really nice houses anyway... I can do $100,000 each.

Pay for college for nephews.
Ensure my son's future is financially stable, without spoiling him.
Keep working (set appropriate example for son...)
Pay off mortgages for siblings, parents, and self.
Force (and pay for) my father-in-law to get his "back fixed" (in lotsa pain).
Buy a beach vacation home for friends and family to share.
Find a way to thank the people in my life that have done very nice things and never ask for anything in return.
Do something special for my employees.
Get a divorce. (hey, I'm honest, can't afford it without the lottery!!

Quit work.

Set aside a certain amount of money for play.

Buy a house with waterfront view in Van., a cottage on a Gulf Island, and possibly, a modest home somewhere warm like Bali or Spain or wherever my mood takes me. Take care of my brother, sister and niece.

Invest the rest, and set up a charitable trust for the arts.

Rent a yacht and go on a nice long tropical cruise with selected friends and family and PARTY with the best food and wine until we're done!

Buy clothes, jewelry, toys, things I've always wanted but could never afford.

Spend a lot of time reading, visiting museums and writing those books, plays etc. I've always wanted to write.

Thought this thread should be revived.

I've noticed a lot of people bash on stars' extravagences. But what if you had more money than you knew what to do with? Say you won 50 million in the lottery tomorrow. What would you do with your money that would be just plain old decadent? No "I'd give it to charity" crap. Real, honest shit that you would splurge on just cause you could.

1) Probably go insane and giggle to myself for about 3 days straight.

2) Quit, but not before traipsing around the office flinging handfulls of 100 dollar bills everywhere, tralala, eat my pocketchange you unwashed peons! AHAHAHAH!

3) Open an account at a prestigious investment firm and procure the servies of a wealth management team.

4) Buy a 1963 Porsche, black, with red leather interior, drive it over to my asshole father's place (he owned one in germany and pines for it to this day), let him drive it, sell the fucking thing for a hideously low pice to some underserving retard while he watches and then laugh my ass off.

5) Find a nice, old house (not extravagant), have it professionally decorated with my final input. Relax for about a week in it.

6) Plan a relaxing vacation somewhere exclusive, child-free and tropical. Enjoy for 2 weeks.

7) Get new teeth, some derma stuff, maybe a personal trainer, and definitely a personal chef

Also hire a personal shopper to make me look swanky.

8) Buy my way into university get myself set up for a few film theory and applied courses a year from now. Supplement my projects with nice budgets when it comes time.

9) use the year off to travel the world, do photography, and absorb all I can.

10) come home to my nicely decorated (but not extravagant) house, learn how to drive, buy a couple cars (something fast and something with lots of storage space) and go to school.

11) make movies for the rest of my life with interesting side projects.

12) think about possibly becoming interested in maybe donating to a charity.
