    Default Home made tigers

The Toyger is a designer cat. It is designed and bred with the demands of modern apartment life as a human companion foremost in mind. Glittered, pelted, dramatic pattern appeals to both the high-tech glamour and nature-loving, wild dreams of city-caught people while the laid back, easily trained character of these cats make them a joy to live with.

The Toyger is a breed in development. Recognized by TICA for Registration Only early in the 1990's and lovely even now, the goals for the breed are long term and the prospect even more exciting! Several of the features proposed have never before been recognized as possible in a domestic cat. Progress is slow but steady in all areas from companionability to appearance.

This breed is of and for the computer age. Computer imaging help breeders determine what they want , how far off a cat might be and how to improve the progeny. Email and lists make friendships blossem, communication of ideas and photos immediate, cross country mating matches arranged, etc. etc. Webpages like this allow breeders and groups to inform the public and further better understanding of breeds and pet choices.

If this is real, then these people are fuckheads. We do not need another breed of cat, we do not need designer cats, we do not need small tigers. They just look like regular cats to me anyway.

The really disgusting ones, though, are the Twisty Cats and the Munchkin Cats. Google it.

Seriously. There are plenty of sweet and adorable cats and kittens in shelters that need good homes, and cost a fraction of what these must cost.

^^^ Yup, what they said. That one's mighty cute though.

I agree...those poor animals are waiting for a home and I can probably bet that when the ''novelty'' wears off on these toyger's that a few of them will end up in the same place.

I have my own little tiger. And I paid $60 for him at the shelter. Sure he's silver, but he's beautiful!

It's technically a deformity, and they're breeding to keep the deformity going. I don't believe in it... technically, the twisty cats are just as natural... they breed for the deformity. Same with Polydactyls. I think it's wrong to breed for deformity, BUT... the munchkins and polydactyls aren't that bad. At least they can still walk and function. Twisty cats are often deformed to the point that they can't walk properly.
