Default Everybody DOES have a twin!

Photographer creates amazing portraits of STRANGERS who look the double of each other

At first glance, it's an elegant set of portraits of twins - but look more closely and the secret is revealed.

None of the individuals captured by photographer Francois Brunelle are related by blood, their faces just have strikingly similar characteristics.

Mr Brunelle, who lives in Québec, has studied the human face since he started out as a photographer at the age of 18 in 1968.

The collection, entitled I'm not a look-alike!, features a range of individuals from North American and European backgrounds who are not related, side by side.

According to the photographer, the portraits allow him to explore the intimate relationship between subjects and how they approach their remarkably similar appearances.

Mr Brunelle told MailOnline: 'I found my first subjects simply through people I knew who looked alike. Then as the media covered my project, more people came forward to take part.'

The photographer continues to look for subjects and is inviting people to come forward until he finishes the project next year. More details can be found at brunelle.com.

Black and white photography and similar expressions do wonders. They are pretty similar but I don't think it's that freakish. I've met many people in real life who are extremely similar and apparently I have a couple of twins out there too, from what I've been told :p

I do know that when I was a pre-teen until my early twenties, tons of people would approach me thinking I was somebody named Sondra. They would start up whole conversations with me, leaving me dazed and confused, not knowing who the hell these folks were and what the hell they were talking about. Sometimes they'd apparently greeted me or waved to me, to which I obviously didn't respond and then they'd be in my face like "Hey, Sondra, what's up, don't you want to know me anymore?" It took a lot of explaining to convince them I really wasn't the girl they thought I was, so I probably sounded like her, too. Then after about a decade it stopped, so she either moved or died, I dunno. So, ever since that happened to me, I do believe the saying that everybody has a non-related twin.

I was looking through my son's Facebook page and one of his female friends posted a picture of her with her boyfriend and the guy looked IDENTICAL to my son. I looked at my son and it's like he knew what I was going to say, because he answered with, "Yes, everyone says we look like brothers."

Seriously, I was in such awe, I saved a couple of the pictures of this kid with his girlfriend and sent them to my sister without writing anything. She writes back and asks when my son got a girlfriend. I told her that wasn't my son and she said she went back to look at it again and could NOT believe that wasn't him.

I almost wish I could post the pictures of my son and this kid. It's truly unbelievable.

When I first changed high schools in Year 9 all the girls at my new school kept calling me Kylie or telling me I was the twin of a girl Kylie who was away but would be back the next week. By the time Kylie came back half the school was ready for the face to face meeting, thinking we would both be astonished at how identical we were. Needless to say, both Kylie and I couldn't see any resemblance other than our hair, and in fact I think we were both a little peeved because we each probably thought we were prettier than the other (we were 14). We went on to be good friends though and people still called us "the twins" which just made us roll our eyes.

But I'm also fascinated by peoples' faces and I often see strangers in Sydney who remind me so much of various family members that I'm sure we're from the same gene pool.

I met a guy at a con dressed as Scotty that looked SO MUCH like James Doohan my companion, who wasn't aware that he had died, went on and on to him and wanted to get his autograph. He was very sweet about telling her that he wasn't the real guy, but he was an absolute dead ringer.

I was watching a yoga video on youtube (taped somewhere in the US) when I suddenly saw myself. I had to show it to DH it was so weird. She looked exactly like me, her body structure too, shape of head, I couldn't stop staring and rewinding the clip.

My brother and one of our neighbours look exactly the same, people often mistake them for each other.

I think I mentioned this before, but there is(Or was, actually; she passed away) a porn star who looks so much like me that not only did Hubby point it out to me, but I got a late night phone call from a friend, saying basically, "OH MY GLOB, THERE IS A PORN STAR THAT LOOKS JUST LIKE YOU!"

    Yaaaaaaay.

That porn star is lucky to look like you

I was in a restaurant with my husband when I saw my doppleganger. It was unsettling to me. Not sure why.

I think some of them only look kind of similar and wouldn't look like "twins" at all if not for similar clothes and hair.
