Default EPIC "Odd Life of Timothy Green" reaction (spoiler alert)

This was on the news this morning. My kids really want to see this film. Apparently, it's not necessarily the "feel good movie of the year" that some people think it is.

Oh shit. Not taking my mom to see this. She is still mad at me for My Dog Skip so I know she will lose her shit like those kids did.

My whole family is pretty "in touch" with our emotions. We will get somewhat worked up watching sad movies/shows. But this is really out there.

However, I have a BIL and SIL who just dropped off their oldest child at college for the first time. My 10-year-old nephew cried, hard, the whole one-hour drive back home. He even threw up at one point.

We can't watch any movies with kids dying or dogs. My brother made the mistake of bringing My Girl home for my mom to watch which was a huge mistake. Mom likes her movies way far away from the reality of life. lol.

I don't like the parents reaction. That does not seem funny to me either. Awful.

I want to make fun of them, but I cried during Dolphin Tale, and no one even dies in that one!

I don't usually cry at films and the only two that I can think of that have really set me off have been Watership Down and The Green Mile (but only for Mr Jingles). Other films that people have sworn blind would make me sob like a baby haven't had the promised effect. Macaulay Culkin's character biting the dust in My Girl? Team Bees. Bambi's mother becoming venison pie? Save me a slice. E.T going home? Cya!

I'm trying to think of movies that got to me. "The Champ" is one - boy, did Rick Shroeder pull off a virtuoso performance at the end.

"The Road" got to me, but I was even more traumatized than saddened.

^ I saw the Champ at the movies as as kid. One of my male cousins had to run out into the lobby, he was crying so hard.

I gotta say I'm a big sap when it comes to movies especially animal movies.

I gotta admit I was laughing at the video, those kids are a little over dramatic.

Me, too. Ugh. I'm like darksith's mom - I do NOT want my movies to make me want to tap a vein when it's over.
