This was originally uploaded in 2009 but I've never seen it before and I don't think it's been posted here. It won a Webby Award for Online Film and Video: Best Short Film/Individual Episode in 2010.
I love the idea of modern electronic web technology transposed into the analog machinery of the 50s. And the attention to vintage detail is superb--the slang, the hair and makeup, the pop culture references of the day, music and narration, all so well done. It's like an old instructional film you'd catch on TCM at 3 am, and so creative and funny.
Plus, it's good Facebook advice.
If you like this, check out all the other short films the same people have made since about Alice and Timmy's adventures in the world of online social networking and dating. Like the one where Alice reads a "textual message" from another woman on Timmy's "Freud" device (it spits out texts on paper lol) and then looks up the woman's name on her "computing machine's detective engine, 'Ogle'".
