Default Hyper-realistic sculptures by Ron Mueck

I came across this one first and had to see more of his work.

What fascinated me was the different angles of each piece. See google images to see the different views.

So realistic, but creeping me out at the same time.

They had one at the AGO here, it was that sleeping face, but awake and stretched out of proportion up and down. It was a very bizarre experience, looking at it.

KrisNine, the bald naked sculpture is at the Hirshhorn Museum on the Mall in Washington, DC. I've seen it a number of times and the photos don't really do it justice. It looks like an actual 15-foot giant angry guy sulking in the corner. And when you pose next to him for a photo, you almost feel like he is going to reach over and smack you.

By the way, this is a really cool museum for people who like more modern and experimental art. They have works by Piet Mondrian, Frank Stella, Alberto Giacometti, Francis Bacon, Rauschenberg, Jasper Johns. Lots of really cool temporary exhibits.

    That is one ugly baby.

But the sculptures are amazing. I love the elderly lady one.
