    Default Congrats on your menopause!

Has someone you love recently retired from a long and accomplished career of menstruation? Why not recognize her monthly achievements with this tasteful Golden Tampon Lifetime Achievement Award? Warning: do not insert.

But Does It Have The Midas Touch? - golden tampon - Jezebel

    From the site:

A decorative work of art to commemorate that you've done your Tampon Time and you're Free At Last! This art object of a tampon symbol is beautifully hand crocheted out of metallic gold thread and hangs in a distinctive black shadow box. Gold trophy labels celebrate "Golden Tampon" and "Lifetime Achievement Award". Give it to your partner or spouse, your best friend, or even yourself! Makes a great menopausal gift or post-menopausal gift although it's probably not a minstrel gift. Celebrate newfound liberation with The Change! Freedom from The Curse! Get some of the best medicine, as they say. Laugh off those hot flashes!
    Ok, then....

I'll take some cash too! What I'd do with a golden tampon, besides either sell it or mount it (can you mount a tampon?) is beyond me.

Anyway, been there done that. No symptoms either for whatever reason. And I don't miss the tampons at all...

I can't wait for menopause and it will probably happen in a few years. The though of not having to plan my life around what time of the month it is will be so liberating!

I had premature menopause at 38. The hot flashes are no fun, but it all went away after about a year....still cranky after 7 years, though....

it appears to come already mounted. i prefer the cash also, which should be the lifetime equivalent of pads and tampons.

Thanks Taffy! I feel the same way (and I would have happily given myself a hysterecomy with a kitchen knife some months). I know its supposed to be affirming, but its insulting to me. Maybe I'm just bitter because I'm forced to have mine 15 yrs before the rest of the women in my family.

My mother was 53 when she finally gave up the menstrual ghost. I am VERY afraid I might have to put up with it that long as well.

Sasha - my family are C55.... I'm 41 now and I can tell you I'd rather have my periods back, even with as bad as they were. Srly.

    C55?

Why do you want them back?

I'll be 41 in October. I was sort of hoping it would be gone by now.
