I think she's fug no matter what hair color. But as for the thinning, I'm betting hormone treatments, specifically DHEA.

Could also be basic hormone imbalance, peri-menopause or thyroid issues

It could just be lighting/camera. My friend had a picture taken recently where it looks like she has bare scalp where she doesn't. It was my camera's flash causing the problem. It freaked her out... and I remembered this thread.

Very true. My stylist noticed my hair got really thin a few years ago. The culprit? An ovarian cyst causing hormone imbalance.
