a friend of mine has run a couple of marathons and there wasn't a lot of walking he did those evenings or even the following day.

I don't know about going out in heels that night BUT my ex's brother did his first marathon on Cape Cod about 3 years ago..finished under 5 hours then ate, and was at the gym 3 hours later to lift weights! I thought that he was a physical freak for doing that but I guess anything is possible
