In these childhood and teenage pictures you can see her eyes are light
and are a lot lighter than those of her companions:

same - which is why I went on the mission to try to find out more. I dont think you can zoom in close enough in those pictures and I can kinda see a line - maybe - maybe not.

The green ones do look more natural, I also looked up opaque lenses to see if it was possible to have eyes like that (light and natural looking) and it seem they can do that now, they can put a mix of colors there so still no closer to the answer.

    more with brown...

Those aren't contacts. That is the outer rim of her iris. That's common in people who have light-colored or hazel eyes.

This photo is tinted a brown color. The color is not real-life accurate.

A lot of times, magazines and other publicity generating machines will photoshop the pic to make the eyes appear more natural. Her eyes have identical brown spots above her irises, which seems odd to me. She is absolutely stunning though.

She's got brown eyes. You can clearly see it in her younger pics.

I have a similar eye color to her 'blue'/'green'/grey eyes... the outer ring is a
darker blue, the inner ring is a less saturated greenish/blue, and around the
pupil is hazel. I wouldn't call it pure blue, but I definitely wouldn't call it green
either. The images posted with her eyes pure blue obviously have been altered.

She is extremely beautiful in any case.

I am not talking about that at all. I have green eyes and outer rim of my iris is darker as well, but I also wear contacts and can clearly see them in someones eyes. Contacts cover whole iris, and go over (like 1 mm)- so if you want to see them you have to look at the sclera (white part).
I think people who don't wear contacts have trouble recognizing them... my mom can't see them in my eyes for the love of God

You should be able to see it in this pic.

I do, however, think that it would be hard to make dark eyes appear naturally green/blue with contacts...

I agree with your description of contact lenses, there is an outer clear edge and none of the green eye photo's are close up enough to see that part of the eye properly.

    opaque lenses on brown eyes...

you can apparently get them handpainted as well - with designer mix colours, and they come with different dialation sizes. I think it's totally possible for her eyes to be natural brown.

It's certainly confusing that many photos do have her with brown eyes, a few website's I have seen people saying she was brown eyed at the time of the miss world win - but I am yet to see any clear good quality photo's from that era.
Her parents weren't poor and I am sure there are school photos and teenage photos of her face - none on the internet though.

    ^Those contacts looks amazing, wow.

Ayshwarya's eyes are NATURAL though. They look light even in her young pics.

That's because they ARE naturally light, more greenish than blue,
with hazel spots in them. Mine are darker blue with brown spots
in them. My moms are light green with yellowish and orange spots
in them. And yes: having symmetrically identical spots in the exact
same locations on the iris' IS possible: we have those, too.

I think the baby pic should settle the issue to those who are not so attentive to detail. Natural light eyes and period.
