No drug is completely safe to use when pregnant. And with methadone, there's a bigger risk of misuse/abuse. People can become addicted to it just as easily as anything else. It's a controlled substance FFS. It's about as easy (or difficult, depending upon your connections) to score as other drugs. Even if you do take it as prescribed, there are still risks, as that link shows.

Well, I know you're not into having kids yourself. But it would suck if an addict who didn't give enough of a shit about having a healthy baby spawned one you had to pay taxes for or protect yourself from one day.

But ya gotta admit sober and healthy babies are generally cheaper than premature, addicted ones with health issues and possibly later on emotional and/or learning disabilities.
