Maybe she's just so in tune with her horse that she didn't want to choose another?

I like a chick that sticks by her animals... instead of letting them die in closets. Not that you could fit a horse in a closet.

No, the way it works is that the score is tied to a specific horse and rider combination. If one half of the pair is injured the whole pair is excused. Think about it, if you were in 4th place, would you be happy that the person above you brings in an untried/lower scoring horse?
