TOTALLY agree. LA is not a place to raise a family, especially not if you are from a more normal region of the country.

Sweetie: Kevin isn't just an extra on the show, he's actually a guest star, playing a real role, that is running in several episodes. Not that I watch the shit, but being in the biz, I know that even having a speaking part of any kind is massively time-consuming. So he really is working, and getting paid very well too.

Which, come to think of it, is more than Britney seems to be working. What does she do? Go shopping, out to eat and out to party. ANd attend the odd lawyers meeting inbetween.

But overalll, its just a huge mess.

A part of me is hoping that she full-on loses her shit, fails a drug test and sets into motion some sort of court-orded rehab / psych treatment. So she can finally get some intensive help.

Thats the other good thing about the court and judge being so involved: if she flips her lid, the judge has the authority to have her involuntarrily committed, ordered into rehab or jailed, and other measures.

Just hours after a judge ordered random drug tests for Britney Spears, the singer hit the Los Angeles nightclub scene overnight Tuesday with Avril Lavigne.

Followed by a pack of paparazzi, Spears first was seen at Winston's in West Hollywood with Lavigne and Spears's friend Alli Sims.
The women left around 1 a.m., and Spears was later spotted at Hyde Lounge in West Hollywood until the club closed.

"They kept bringing (Spears) shots and so they were drinking," says a Hyde observer. "She was dancing on the tables trying to be really sexy, even putting a black sock over her head as a hat, and putting on a show for everyone."

Another observer saw what appeared to be alcohol in front of Spears but didn't see her drink it.

At one point in the evening, Spears drove to the Beverly Hills Police Department and complained that photographers were following her, but no action was taken.

Spears's partying came after the judge in her custody fight with Kevin Federline found that she is a "habitual, frequent and continuous" user of alcohol and controlled substances, and now must submit to random twice-weekly testing.

I think K-Fed is still a douche, still interested in Vegas, smoking, partying--but at least he's a douche who is doing what needs to be done right now: taking care of those kids, at least pretending to be a stable parent for their sake. Admittedly the bar is not high, but that just makes it more reprehensible that Britney is failing to meet such low standards.

Right, but my point being, there is a huge difference between being an extra and playing an actual role. An extra makes $200 a day max and just sits around reading a book until they are told to do something, walk by, etc. But a speaking part entails attending rehearsals & read-throughs, countless takes, reshoots, etc. Thats my only point. If he were an extra, then yes I totally agree with you, that isn't a job and he is being useless. But he's not.

Alli is somehow friends and or works for Avril so,yeah.Not so random but strange nevertheless that she'd hang out with Britney.

Los Angeles has nothing to do with it. I'm an 'L.A. Girl' and half my family is too (mom's side)....I spent all my life in San Diego and Los Angeles and we're all 'normal'. I'm not on drugs. I've never had plastic surgery. I don't have fake boobs. Britney's downfall was account of her career and her upbringing, not because she's in L.A. If your mother can't instill morals in you, don't expect the City of Angels to do so. She's from Louisiana anyway---I can't tell you of how many people I know who are from little towns in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, etc...and they say all their damn friends and family are nothing but meth and pot heads back home...nothing to do except hit the porch and get high day after day.

Drugs are everywhere...even in Mayberry, USA.

I admit I'm still hung up on events prior to their divorce and can't see Kevin for the kind of dad his publicist is intent on making him into. Sorry but no involvement with any of his kids until Britney started messing up in public doesn't say 'good dad' to me. And even that involvement seems to revolve around when it looks good for him - why is it that his lawyer goes on and on about how Kevin's nanny has the kids on a good schedule.

Everyone goes on about how Britney is using the kids for publicity - if that's true why does she bother to be around them when it's assumed they're not being observed (such as in the backyard of their private home)? She's had Sean Preston on her hip since he was born, taking him everywhere she went. Now when she has the boys they're with her and not stashed away somewhere. I still find it odd I've only seen one photo of Kevin alone with his kids (that one 'exclusive' photo of the boys birthdays last week) and yet there are thousands of Britney and the kids.

Granted Britney has major issues that need to be resolved but if it's a choice between her and super dad I'd like to see them have a third choice at least until Britney straightens herself out.
