I was actually eager to see the movie (I love mullet rock and I can't see the stage version Down Under) UNTIL I found out that the movie version changed the storyline; the bad guys were changed from German real estate developers, into conservative, prudish women. I mean, come on. Where's the fun in that? Uptight lady (Catherine Zeta Jones) versus a campy actor doing evil, badly accented german? I'm sick of the conservative right (got enough of that in the news), I want some campy, badly accented fun!

But based on the reviews, the movie takes itself too seriously - it drops the camp. Hence why I changed my mind and didn't go to see it this week.

I think I might like the film, but because Tom Cruise is in it, I just can't go.

Julianne Hough is also the kiss of death for a movie. Whoever picks 'em for her has no idea what they're doing. I think everyone knew the reboot of Footloose was going to tank except the people that were in it.

I hated the music that Rock of Ages pays homage to, but back in the day, I hung out in that hairband crowd, went to all the gigs etc, but my heart was always with heavier bands...

I'd see it if it wasn't compared to Mama Mia and Hairspray. I'd rather stab my eyes with a biro, than sit through any musical... (Rocky Horror and Hair excluded.)

And Moulin Rouge, for me, but that's it.

The play was amazing and a ton of fun but with the storyline changes and that Hough chick I just waffled about going to see it. I'm sure I will at some point but I'm already down on it.

I loved it on Broadway but would not pay one penny to see anything with Tom Cruise. The Broadway experience was also better because of the interaction between the cast and the audience that is missing when translated to film.

Can't we put all the Rock of Ages threads into one? I think we have three going and this piece of shit movie doesn't deserve it. Thanks bye.

Maybe it's all part of the deal for being a beard for Seacrest?
