This story does kind of remind me of the time that Frank Sinatra was supposed to have JFK over for one of his parties.
JFK had kept his distance from Sinatra (a huge JFK supporter) because he was so mobbed up. But JFK finally agreed to come, and Sinatra even had a special helipad constructed so that JFK's presidential chopper could land right at the party.
At the last minute, though, JFK bailed on the party, and an enraged Sintra -- instead of sobbing in his bathroom -- ran out to the helipad with a sledge hammer, and personally tried to demolish it.
