Victoria Gifford Kennedy told the Boston Herald she didn’t want the country crooner, who’s dating 18-year-old Conor Kennedy, to distract from daughter Kyle Kennedy’s big day — but she and Conor came anyway.

“They texted me an hour before the wedding and asked if they could come,” Victoria said. “I responded with a very clear, ‘Please do not come.’”

She said Taylor, 22, and her new boyfriend showed up Saturday at the Fairmont Copley Plaza hotel in Boston, where her daughter was marrying Liam Kerr.

“I personally went up to Ms. Swift, whose entrance distracted the entire event, politely introduced myself to her, and asked her as nicely as I could to leave,” Victoria told the newspaper.

“It was like talking to a ghost. She seemed to look right past me.”

Swift’s rep denied she was unwanted at the wedding.

“There is no truth to that,” publicist Paula Erickson told the Boston Herald.

“Taylor was invited to the wedding and the bride thanked her profusely for being there.”

Victoria says Swift’s arrival at the hotel prompted chaos as fans rushed to get the singer’s photo and autograph.

She told the newspaper Swift and Conor left during dinner and returned for the reception, where they spent the rest of the night dancing.

Swift recently bought a $5 million home near the Kennedy’s compound in Hyannis Port. Her affection for the young Kennedy has been highly publicized since the pair was spotted canoodling aboard a sailboat in July.

Conor is the eldest son of Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and the late Mary Kennedy, who committed suicide in May.

I just saw this on Inside Edition. Isn't Victoria Gifford Kennedy, Frank Gifford's daughter?

How sad. Common sense would dictate that her celeb status would upstage the bride.

This part makes me shake my head:
“It was like talking to a ghost. She seemed to look right past me.”

I have a feeling this will not end well.

Taylor is starting to remind me of Glenn Close from Fatal Attraction where she tells Michael Douglas; "I will NOT be ignored!"

Hell, as long as we get a pink wig on somebody. We need an epic 'off the rails' thread around here again.

Low class of Gifford-Kennedy to discuss it with the press. Not that the Kennedys are known for class anyway.

Only Jackie had it, and she wasn't a Kennedy.

Loved the part when her publicist said that the Bride "thanked her profusely" for showing up! Get Over Yourself Sweetie!

How can her publicist deny that this happened when the comments come directly from the bride's mother? It's not like this is the usual "anonymous sources say...." bullshit. The only explanation is that the bride did not have a problem with Taylor being there but her mom did.

Default Well, If Drunk Ass Kathie Lee Gifford Says So

Taylor Swift's rep said yesterday that she never crashed a Kennedy wedding in Boston over the weekend and she was there as a guest of her high school boyfriend Conor Kennedy. But Kathie Lee Gifford, who is the bride's step-grandma, said on Today this morning that Taylor pretty much crashed that party and she witnessed it with her own eyeballs. Yes, Kathie Lee was so beyond drunk that she was also witnessed fairies made of stars slow dance in a spinning room and also witnessed a really long blackout, but she swears she saw Taylor try to shove herself further up the Kennedy's asshole by showing up to that wedding uninvited.

Kathie Lee co-signed the mother of the bride's claim that Conor Kennedy never RSVP'd, but texted an hour before the wedding to say he was coming and bringing Taylor. Even though the mother of the bride told Conor to stay at home with his Lemon Meringue doll of a girlfriend, he still showed up to the reception. Conor was told to leave twice and he finally did. The Ramona Singer of morning television saw all of it. via Today:

“I was out in the hallway, she was waiting, standing around, and he came out, took her by the hand and they left,” Gifford said Thursday on TODAY.

Gifford is the stepmother of Victoria Gifford Kennedy, the mother of the bride, who told her “I’m really not happy about this” as the drama unfolded.

Although Swift’s 18-year-old boyfriend, Conor Kennedy, was invited to the event, he failed to RSVP until he sent a text message to the bride’s mother about an hour before the ceremony.

“She didn’t know if he was coming or not. She heard that he might be, but he got in touch with her an hour earlier, and said, basically, ‘Can I bring my girlfriend?’” Gifford said. “She said very nicely, 'please do not come.' Guess what? They came.”

Gifford said her stepdaughter was concerned that Swift’s last-minute appearance would steal the spotlight away from the ceremony.

“It’s the bride’s day, and that was Vicki’s other concern. ‘This is my daughter’s day and I would appreciate it if you would not come,’” she said.

Kathie Lee went on to say, "I was about to run over there and tell that curly fries-haired tramp what's what, but I was in the middle of an intense conversation with a really chatty floor lamp about my new Broadway musical about some lady evangelist nobody's ever heard of." Seriously, how do you decide to write a musical about a lady evangelist and not make it about Jan Crouch or Tammy Faye?

Taylor should just sip a Juicy Juice on her porch swing and leave this alone. Taylor is lucky that the Kennedys only kicked her out of a hotel and didn't decide to take her for a nighttime drive instead.

yes very creepy , dating a guy in high school , buying a house across the street from his family and crashing a wedding all seem very desperate and super clingy and trying to upstage a bride at her wedding is so freaking rude

I believe that story only because the source is the mother of the bride and it seems like Taylor Swift would do anything to get into that family. It's rude to not RSVP, it's rude to make contact an hour beforehand asking to come, and it's rude to come even when you're told not to because it will cause chaos and be a distraction. Even ruder when they show up and don't leave when asked to by the MotB.

Kathie Lee, Victoria, dears, talking about other people's bad manners is bad manners. And talking about family squabbles in the media is worse.

It was the boy's error as he would have been the invitee, but being as his mom just hung herself perhaps his family could cut the kid some slack. And if they didn't want to cut the kid slack, they could have spoken to him about it privately. Now it's just bad manners on all their parts.

^^ Sometimes the (bonus) mother of the bride can beat out any bridezilla.

It was bad manners of the kid to take Taylor when they'd asked him not to but if he only took her to the reception - well, by then the main event of the actual wedding ceremony is over and everyone is eyeing up the booze with a thirsty glint in their eye. It sounds like the (b)MotB made it into more of a distraction than Taylor did by kicking up a stink.
