I love Taylor Swift. I think she's adorable. Even if it is all an act based on what her producers think will make them the most money. Crazy cat lady, clumsy dancer, loser at dating, whatever, I just love her. And I think that guys probably like her because she isn't perfect, more accessible, like they could be actually be her boyfriend. Kinda like Kate Upton (minus the boobs)

Though she HAS improved vocally a little in the last few years, when she started out, she was about 1/4 step flat when she sang. When she first got started, one of my singer friends told me that the only reason Taylor got a recording contract was because her daddy had money. I DO appreciate her wholesome image and that she's not some trashy 'ho though so I guess she is a good influence on young girls but other than that, enough already with the "Taylor Swift wore this" and "Taylor Swift was seen with so and so" and "Taylor Swift is BFF's with so and so" and "Taylor Swift sneezed on Madison Avenue". Uggh.
FYI - she grew up in my area. Her daddy did not have money, at least not the kind needed to make his daughter famous. They were standard upper middle class until she got famous. He was an investment advisor but she bought them homes.

Yup, from what I've read, the family actually uprooted and moved to a different area because they believed in her and wanted her to be where she could get more mentoring and hone her skills. If the parents have a big house now, it's only because Swift bought it for them.

Oh, good to know. My singer friend was apparently mis-informed.

God help me, I find myself liking a lot of her songs. Something catchy I haven't heard will come on and I'll be driving along, bopping to it, and then kind of mentally smack myself when I look at the display and it says TS. But then I just keep bopping! I'm surprised by how many times this has happened since I got my satellite radio back and listen to more than just the local top-40 radio stations.

Physically speaking, she's got....something I like too. A great body (although she's a little thin lately), spec-fucking-tacular legs for days, and she doesn't look like a ho. She seems harmless enough. She may not be vocally gifted or whatever, but for what she does and the kind of music she makes, she does it pretty damn well IMO.

Hopefully she makes her money and gets out of the biz of being in front of the cameras and press, and does something else with her life. I would feel kind of sad if she went the Brit route, washed up grandma route, or broke junkie route. (Or maybe I'd just like to see someone who this industry doesn't chew up and spit out?)

Yeah, I like her and she has appeal on many levels with her goofy, approachable schtick and her ability to actually write songs * shock, horror.* She deserves her fame and fortune unlike many of them.

^ Not only can I listen to her song "Shake it Off" eighty times a day without getting tired of it, I can also watch every single football team, fraternity, sorority or whoever else in the world wants to lip synch and dance to it too. It has a great message. And I love the goofy ballerina bit. She even has fat kids in it !

TS comes across as down to earth, nice, non-bitchy, sort of girl-next-door. Can't hate on that. As for her looks, I find her quite cute and coltish with those long legs. Dim K., on the other hand, is 100% unlikeable and revolting. And I question the taste of anyone who would want to pork her.

    exactly!

i think she's a beautiful girl. she's not sexy in an obvious way but i think that is its own kind of sexiness. she's sexy to people who don't like obvious sexiness. plus, awesome figure, dresses really well and i can't find any good reasons to dislike her. i have no use for her music - it's generic and uninteresting to me but at least it's less annoying than a lot of other pop singers.

My husband would probably say some porn star name and when I say, "Who?" He would say somebody like some Russian tennis player that sucks. But Taylor Swift, no.

I wonder if that is some of her appeal to some men - the fact that everything isn't laid out like a tits and ass buffet and they not only have to use their imagination about what is underneath but actually put in more than minimal effort to see it. In a world full of Kardashians et al who would walk around at lunch time in nothing more than a tiny sequin for attention perhaps she's a refreshing change.

Yes. A flamingo, or a cute 12 year old boy, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, she looks way younger than she is.
