I've been in the Pacific Ocean a million times, no problem. However, one time I was hear the Atlantic and walking right at the water's edge. A wave knocked me down and my boob popped right out of my bathing suit, couldn't catch my breath, had to be hauled out. Husband was upset that he only got to see MY naked boob that day. It wasn't funny to me at all. All oceans can be dangerous.

i can't stand Anne Hathaway, but i wouldn't wish that on anyone. When i was 4 or 5, i almost drowned at the beach. Been scared to death of swimming ever since.

WTF? it looks like her husband is biting her toenails! I dont' think I have ever seen anyone with a first aid kit and what looks like hydrogen peroxide with them ever attempt to "suck the toxins" out of a guys feet. Are you sure her husband is just not into feet?

Scary. You can tell how freaked out she is in the photos. Glad she's OK. Although, I must say I don't want to hear her talking about this over and over and over. At least she won't be nominated for anything this year, so we won't hear about this on every talk show.

Not sure if I am proud or disappointed. Normally any thread about Anne is filled with how much everyone hates her. Only msdeb mentioned the hate. I had expected posts that were bad. LOL

I'm a pretty strong swimmer and grew up competing on swim team, but I don't like to swim in the ocean for this reason. It's just so unpredictable. Even a strong swimmer can panic in a situation like this.

I was nice because everyone else was. Frankly, those photos and her personality had me thinking she was probably reenacting the Nancy Kerrigan base ball bat scene. Why WHY WHHHYYYYYY?

I was being nice too, the whole thing seems rather staged. Her rescuer is standing up, so how deep is the water

I'm a big fan of touching the bottom at all times.

    Apparently Anne should be too.

And I thought mean thoughts the second I read the thread title, I just didn't want to come right out and say it. But yeah I really just don't like her.

It reminded me of the old Three's Company episode when Jack thought he was drowning. He keep screaming that he couldn't swim. Finally, Larry asks, "Can you stand?" and we see that he's in knee deep water.

exactly. i like to think of myself as a good swimmer but i'm not. i also got pulled under by a huge wave - not in the pacific but in the indian ocean. i lost one of my fins when i hit the reef and drifted off pretty close to an unsafe area with rocks. once i got safely back to the beach, i stayed out of the water. gentle waves are better for swimming.

Any surfie will tell you that good surf breaks rely on reefs/rocks close to the surface so it's not a place to swim anyway. If you're not sure ask a lifeguard. They are usually expert local surfers/swimmers anyway and they know this shit and they are happy to share so they don't have to haul you back onto the beach for some CPR.
