I had the giant wall-sized poster of the Seven and the Ragged Tiger cover. I also covered my jackets in all of their buttons that I'd buy from the flea market!
"I ransacked his drawers when he left me by myself at his place for the first time. That's how we did it in the good old days. Tells me all I need to know about him. He pretends he didn't notice. That's how good relationships start." - Chilly Willy
John is aging well, the best of the bunch. I'd hit it.
When your daughter plays "House," she pretends to be an annoying doctor with a pill-addiction and a limp.
I saw Duran Duran live a few years back in Sydney. The show they did was brilliant but I must say, I didn't think John had aged that well. Thought he looked pretty horrible. Simon at the time looked good for his age as did Andy Taylor.
I cant think of this group with out thinking of Farrah Fawcett in Small Sacrifices.
I will see these guys in concert April 30th...they better not disappoint.
Well, my name is "Rio" and I danced on the sand, yup, that song was about me.
I'm seeing them in May. I read they don't play many old songs![]()
As a teen, I was never able to decide between Nick, John and Simon.
But now I realize Nick was waaay too effeminate, that I couldn't picture myself doing the nasty things like I would have done to John and Simon. Now I realize John was the hottest for me (at the time) out of the three, but now I think he's aged the worst. Simon has aged well. I can't believe Nick, who married Julianne Friedman in matching light pink wedding outfits, procreated to have a daughter. WOW!
Nick Rhodes did it for me when I was a kid. What the hell was I thinking? The guy wears more makeup than me!
Shame about the lyric 'mishap'. They were the best in their time.
Bumping this thread...just cuz I found out today that they're performing here on April 27. I don't think it's sold out yet and I'm wondering if I should go. I only know like 3 songs of theirs though!(I was too little in the 80's) But Hungry Like The Wolf is my fave so he better not mess it up again.
If you think it's crazy, you ain't seen a thing. Just wait until we're goin down in flames.
We used to keep a journal in junior high. We were Duran Duran wives and we would report on what we had done with our husbands (it was tame) and then hand it off to the next "wife." I was Nick's wife. I LOVED it when he dyed his hair black during the Arcadia period.
